About
I work at the intersection of music, technology, and product thinking, with deep subject-matter expertise shaped by professional practice, research, and teaching.
For over two decades, I have worked as a composer and music director for film, television, sports, and multimedia projects, collaborating with creative, technical, and business stakeholders under real production constraints. This hands-on experience informs how I evaluate products: usability in time-pressured environments, clarity of creative intent, and systems that scale without flattening artistic nuance.
I am also an educator and published scholar with a PhD in ethnomusicology. I have designed and taught university-level courses in Popular Music, World Music, Music Business, Electronic Composition, and Music Technology. Teaching across these domains has required translating complex creative and cultural systems into clear frameworks, a skill directly applicable to product discovery, user research synthesis, and cross-functional communication.
More recently, my work has expanded into applied product exploration in music technology and generative AI. As the founder of Composer Sync, I have led early product definition for a generative-AI–assisted music discovery and licensing concept, conducting user interviews with composers and music supervisors, defining MVP scope, and establishing quality criteria through human-in-the-loop evaluation. My role focuses on product vision, user needs, and responsible deployment rather than model development.
I bring a domain-expert approach to product management: grounding decisions in user context, collaborating closely with engineering and design partners, and evaluating success through both qualitative insight and measurable outcomes. My goal is to help build human-centered AI music products that support creators, respect culture, and operate effectively at scale.
